Analgos

ATC classification
Release form
Analgos is available as a cream in a fifty gram tube, which is placed in a cardboard box. One gram of cream contains fifty milligrams of capsaicin, two grams of propyl nicotinate, two hundred milligrams of methyl salicylate, one hundred and forty milligrams of methylparaben, sixty milligrams of propyl benzoate.
Pharmacodynamics
Analgos is a locally irritating medication. The fat-soluble substance propyl nicotinate penetrates the skin and is converted into nicotinic acid by splitting. This process stimulates vasodilation, increased blood microcirculation and an increase in local temperature. All of the above contributes to an analgesic effect with average efficiency, which is achieved by blocking the afferent nerve endings of the skin and internal organs.
Use Analgos during pregnancy
The use of Analgos is prohibited during this period. The same prohibition applies to the period of breastfeeding.
Contraindications
- The main contraindication to the use of Analgos is the patient’s high sensitivity to one or more components of the drug.
- It is also prohibited to use the drug in patients under twelve years of age.
- Do not apply the drug to the skin over inflamed joints or in areas of open wounds.
Side effects Analgos
- Allergic reactions include reddening of the skin at the site of application of the drug, an increase in local temperature, itching, swelling, and pustular rashes.
- Sometimes shortness of breath and a decrease in blood pressure are observed. Such side effects are possible when applying the drug Analgos to large areas of the skin.
Overdose
- Symptoms of a severe drop in blood pressure appear.
- The heart rate decreases.
- When the drug Analgos enters the oral cavity, signs of irritation of the oral mucosa appear, as well as respiratory disorders and symptoms of cardiovascular failure against the background of increased anterior pressure.
- If symptoms of overdose appear, the skin should be cleaned of the drug. The same applies to the patient's oral cavity.
- If a large amount of medication has entered the oral cavity, it is necessary to wash out the stomach and use saline laxatives.
- Symptomatic therapy is recommended.
Interactions with other drugs
When used simultaneously with other topical medications with a local irritant effect, as well as thermal physiotherapy procedures, it can lead to a pronounced irritant effect on the skin. This effect is enhanced if large areas of skin are exposed. In this case, a strong drop in blood pressure can be observed, which can even lead to the patient's collapse.
