Arthrography

Arthrography is used for more precise diagnostics of temporomandibular joint diseases, primarily to assess the condition of the intra-articular meniscus.

After skin anesthesia, under X-ray television control, a puncture of one or both joint cavities is performed with the introduction of a water-soluble contrast agent. Then, tomograms of the joint are performed with the mouth open and closed. Arthrography is even more informative if performed in combination with CT of the temporomandibular joint.
