Bom Benguet

Bom-Benge is an ointment with a local irritant effect. It has a smell of methyl salicylate with menthol. The color of the ointment is yellow or white.

Indicated for treatment of:
- pain in muscles or joints, as well as pain that develops against the background of a disease of the tissues located near the joints;
- radiculitis and lumbosciatica.

Release form
It is produced in ointment form in glass jars with a capacity of 25 g. One package contains 1 jar. A cardboard box contains 20 such jars.
Pharmacodynamics
The medicine has a combined composition - it includes 2 active substances (menthol and methyl salicylate). When used locally, they have a powerful analgesic effect, as well as a certain local anesthetic effect.
Dosing and administration
The ointment is used externally. The required amount of the medicine (approximately 2-4 g) should be rubbed into the areas where pain occurs. If necessary, the treatment procedure can be repeated after a few hours (no more than 3 times a day). The duration of the treatment course without a doctor's prescription is a maximum of 10 days.
Use Bom Benguet during pregnancy
The use of drugs during lactation or pregnancy is permitted only with the permission of the attending physician.
Contraindications
Among the contraindications of the drug:
- hypersensitivity to substances contained in the drug;
- the presence of open wounds on the surface of the skin;
- skin irritation;
- age under 6 years.
Caution is required when prescribing to patients with aspirin-induced bronchial asthma, as well as to children aged 6-12 years.
Side effects Bom Benguet
Occasionally, the use of Bom-Benge may result in irritation at the treatment site or skin allergies, as well as the development of increased sensitivity or Quincke's edema.
Overdose
There is no information about drug overdose. If the drug is accidentally swallowed (usually in children), it is necessary to immediately perform gastric lavage and give the patient an enterosorbent.
Interactions with other drugs
Bom-Benge can cause skin hyperemia, and also reflexively increase the speed of microcirculation inside the subcutaneous tissues. Therefore, it is not recommended to combine it with other drugs for local use - this can increase the absorption of the latter.
The combination in high doses can enhance the toxic properties of methotrexate, as well as weaken the medicinal effect of antidiabetic drugs.
The medicine should not be used simultaneously with oral anticoagulants.
Storage conditions
The preparation should be kept in a place protected from sunlight and moisture, and inaccessible to small children. Temperature indicators - maximum 25 degrees.
Shelf life
Bom-Benge is suitable for use within 3 years from the date of its release.
