Elbow bone

The ulna is thickened in its upper part. At this (proximal) end is the trochlear notch (incisura trochlearis), intended for articulation with the trochlea of the humerus. The trochlear notch has two processes: a more massive posterior one - the olecranon process (olecranon) and a smaller anterior one - the coronoid process (processus coronoideus). On the coronoid process on the radial (lateral) side is the radial notch (incisura radialis), with which the head of the radius articulates. Below the coronoid process is the tuberosity of the ulna (tuberositas ulnae). The lower (distal) end of the ulna ends in the head of the ulna (caput ulnae), from which the styloid process (processus styloideus) extends on the medial side. The head has an articular circumference (circumferentia articularis) for articulation with the radius. The lower surface of the head is flat.
