Orasept
Orasept is a disinfectant medicine, which also has an analgesic effect. It contains the active substance phenol, which has fungicidal and antimicrobial activity. Also, glycerin contained in the drug helps to soften the oral mucosa, preventing irritation.
The active ingredient of the drug is absorbed into the systemic circulation in small quantities, so it does not have a systemic therapeutic effect.
Indications Orasept
It is used as a painkiller and antiseptic for ENT pathologies; it is used for pharyngitis, tonsillitis or sore throat.
It can be prescribed in dentistry – in case of periodontitis, stomatitis or gingivitis. In addition, it is used as a disinfectant in case of dental operations.
Can be used by people using orthodontic appliances or dentures.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of a spray for oral administration - inside polymer bottles with a capacity of 177 ml.
Dosing and administration
The medicine must be sprayed inside the oral cavity. The liquid that ends up in the mouth after using the spray can be swallowed. The spraying procedure for persons under 12 years of age must be performed under adult supervision. The dosage and duration of therapy are selected individually by the attending physician.
A teenager over 12 years old and an adult need to carry out 3-5 spraying procedures at 2-4 hour intervals. For the age group of 2-12 years, 3 spraying procedures are carried out at the same time interval.
Your healthcare professional may adjust the frequency and dosage of your medication.
Orasept should not be used for a long time. If there is no improvement after 5 days of using the spray, the patient should be re-examined to clarify the diagnosis, and then the treatment regimen should be changed.
Use Orasept during pregnancy
Orasept may be prescribed during pregnancy only after the attending physician has assessed all possible risks and benefits of its use.
If the medication needs to be taken during lactation, you should consult a healthcare professional regarding the need to interrupt breastfeeding.
Contraindications
Among the contraindications:
- severe personal intolerance to the components of the drug;
- use in people with severe forms of renal or hepatic dysfunction.
Side effects Orasept
Often the medication is tolerated without complications. Only occasionally swelling or hyperemia in the oral mucosa occurs, and in addition to this, epidermal symptoms of allergy.
The medicine does not have a negative effect on tooth enamel.

Overdose
The introduction of large doses of drugs causes the development of vomiting with nausea.
In case of intoxication, gastric lavage should be performed. If necessary, the patient may be hospitalized.
Storage conditions
Orasept should be stored in a dark and dry place. Temperature values should not exceed 30°C. The solution from the bottle should not be frozen.
Shelf life
Orasept can be used for a period of 24 months from the date of sale of the therapeutic drug.
Application for children
The medication is used very carefully in children under 2 years of age, with a careful assessment of the benefits and possible complications.
Analogues
Analogues of the drug are Proalor, Strepsils, Adzhisept and Falimint with Eucalyptus oil, as well as Farmaseptik and Septogal.
